my turn... :)

since you all are announcing things you've scored for your trucks, i figure i'll spill mine... just got my air assist suspension. my s'crew f150 will soon be a s'crew f450, in theory. they are a firestone airbag rated to a 3000lb max...

sorry nathan... yeah chris, the installation is pretty idiot proof.

Fom, it really will be a truck saver, as it is a work truck to, for now, it'll really save my rear end from so much abuse.

Way to go sherm. I've always wondered about those. I wouldn't need them for load capacity, but for ride comfort, they'd probably help a lot. How much did that run you????

340, tax in. they're about 150-200 more for the SD trucks, but have 5-10ooolb caps.

Who makes 'em? Is it a generic kit or model specific?

I have had a few sets or air bags - different brands. The last set I had (cant remember make) ended up needing to change both bags after a couple of years yet all the others worked well. I never had the setup with the compressor, just an air chuck (usually mounted into the mounting bracket for the trailer wiring plug. I think you need to keep 5-10 pounds of air in them as a minimum. Every set I had improved the load carrying capacity of the truck immensely. The plumbing supplied usually comes with an induvidual fill for left and right. What I would recommend is to go to a place that sells air lines for semis and get some of that stuff as well as the fittings to make a tee and plumb to a single fill point. The cheap line that comes will work for a bit but they use those push together fittings and they will leak in no time, especially when cold. Trust me on this advice, get the good line and the fittings with the inserts and stuff to make it better!

i could see that being a problem. i just finished putting them on, put in 30lbs, and what a ride difference. much nicer even without much load(just a few tools, 2-250lbs). i don't have the onboard compressor, but depending on how much i use them i might get it. for now i'm thinking of getting something for the front...
