Emissions light illuminated

My Dad has an '86 F-250 HD, Lariat, 460, manual 4 speed. The Emissions light came on at about 180,000 miles and he is trying to get it to go out. He was told that there is a rest button on the EEC and told it was the size of a deck of cards, located either under the dash, near the steering column, or behind the glove box. He can't seem to find it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The EMR module should be located next to the steering column up under the dash. I believe it is to the left of the column but I don't remember exactly. You need to take a small screwdriver or ball point pen and find the small reset hole which is sometimes covered with a sticker if it has not been reset before. While pushing in the reset button reach up and turn the ignition key to the on position (not crank position) and hold for about 5 seconds. Turn the key back off and then start the truck to see if it does a bulb check and goes out. If not try the procedure again.

thanks Roushford. I'll let him know and give it a try. He said he didn't see any modules in that area, that were the size of a deck of playing cards. Is the EMR module that size? Thanks.
