7.3 questions.
First of all the truck is a F350 CC LB 4x. 8" Donahoe lift with dual Fox's. It is chipped out with the K&N intake and exhaust. 37" with 4.56 gearing. a few other "niceties" are thrown on it.
Great feed back. I belong to the ST1300 site and couldnt say enough bout the riders there. This seems to be the same caliber.
I do have the capability of turbo cool incorporated into the alarm, i will use it.
I have heard the ULSD issue before and will go buy a case and stick it behind the seat.
One question that may come up, after i look into it, with the KN box will other filters fit in it? do they design these suckers to mock the OEM dimensions?
I'll check out the Water separate/fuel filter drain. That is what the Chilton "manual" calls it, but doesnt give a picture. Im on it.
The female thinks i am nuts. I am die hard motorcyclists and December of 05 i deployed to Iraq with MC, where i steadily got shot in Sept 06. I havent been able to ride since, but will soon, so i went and bought myself this truck for a desert toy. I think she was thinking "down payment on a house..." ooops. She was going with the "anything that keeps him off of that bike" logic... we'll see.
Thanks again brothers.
No, Thank you Sir. And welcome to the site, Hang around and you will learn all you want to about you truck and what makes it tick. Again, thanks for what you have done for me and our country.
I've been using Diesel Kleen since last November, nearly 20,000 miles worth, and have kept meticulous records and am **** about to-the-top fillups and accurate hand-calculated mileage. I've also just spent three tanks of running around without the DK so i could get a clean start on a similar evaluation for Stanadyne's performance Formula fuel additive (after all, they're making a heck of a lot of injectors and ought to know something about keeping them clean), and have now just made a half-tank run on the Stanadyne.
Observations: Mileage improvements and much smoother runing engine make it worth it and more than offset the cost of the DK and Stanadyne additives.
Once I stopped using the DK, I noticed my mileage dropping off, and it had settled out at about 1.5 mpg lower after the three tanks of no additive. First tank run on the Stanadyne picked up my mileage by over 1 mpg compared to similar running conditions on the DK (Highway at 75-82 mph with some country roads that, same path traveled many times before). This latest half-tank run got me an mpg calc of 17.2, which is a little higher than I normally see on the same trip path when I've run it in the past at the 75-80mph rate. I can't wait to accumulate a little more data... I have another short road trip tomorrow and then again on Monday as well.
As for additives, I like the Stanadyne performance formula best but you don't need to add it to every tank of fuel. once a month should keep everything clean. I do like to have it in the tank when towing as it boost the cetane.
I do not like the K&N intake, allows too much dirt through. I installed the AIS intake which is supplied by Ford and gives a 35% improvement in airflow. I own a 200 and the purge valve is on the rear bottom of the fuel filter. Can be fun to see if you don't know where to look. Get something to stand on and look from the passenger side fender at the back of your fuel filter.
FYI, the 03 is an F350 CC LB 4X, with chip and exhaust mods. 8"Donahoe lift, dual Fox's, mojave tephlons, 37 At's with 4.56 gearing. It has some other creature comforts added to it.
I do have the turbo cool feature incorporated into my alarm, so i guess i will use it when in doubt.
I just went outside to reverify what i thought was a KN intake system, but it appears that it is the OEM box with a KN dropin. I will swap the filter out and have to do some research for a new intake.
The Water separator/fuel boll drain was a piece of cake. It is a rotating lever.
Regarding the fuel adatives, i will pick up a case and set it behind the seat, just so there no excuse.
I appreciate the knowledge with this.. the woman thinks im crazy. I am a die hard motorcyclist and havent been able to ride since March of 06 due to a badly placed sniper round in Iraq. Soo, I bought this truck for a desert toy/hauler. I think she was planning on using that for a down payment on a house... i guess we are getting a smaller house.

Question 27. I read the thread on the wix 6637 and went to the fleetfilter.com site.
http://www.wixfilters.com/filterlookup/PartDetail.asp?Part=46637
The thread i read states that this is a replacement filter. I assume for a stock application. However, the 46637 number is a cylindrical filter, and the filter in the 350 is the planar rectangle type stock looking thingy.
If the 6637 is a replacement for a modified box, can someone reccommend a aftermarket filter for the KN currently in the beast? Also, thoughts on OEM filters? Remember the rig is chiped and exhaust mod'ed.
You Gents have a great one.
