Anyone have a running list on good parts that can be purchased from a salvage yard. My air pump is frozen because the truck sat for 18 months. Should I go with a rebuild?
I'm not to happy with chiltonsdiy.com, although I have nothing to compare it to, I would have like to seen some video and detailed photos. They could also have done some cool stuff by overlaying the diagrams with photos so you could clikc on a part and it would say what the part was.....Mybe I just too new of a newbie.
You'd probably be safe with a salvage yard air pump. I've hardly ever seen one go bad, except locking up from sitting like yours.
I did try to buy one from a salvage yard in my area and they told me they can't sell emission parts. But other less 'professional' places don't seem to care.
If cant find one there are alway truck being parted out around . I found parts in downtown Indy. At a garage once surrounded by high rises > But get a rebuilt if have to . Good luck
