So I just got the kenwood ddx-8019 and minus the first unit I got eating my dvd and not ejecting the disc it is sweet. I have one problem though. I hooked up a pac audio steering wheel control interface and it only works sometimes and poor at that. Has anybody else had an issue with their's or am I the only one? Oh yeah I have an 06 F250.
Did you go through the programming instructions correctly?
Are you holding the button down long enough? I have found that it takes a little longer for the signal to get translated by the adapter and sent to the head unit. You can't just click it real fast, you have to hold the button down for about half a second. It really takes some time to get used to on the volume control. If you don't hold it down long enough it won't do anything, but if you hold it too long it turns it all the way up or down.
It's great once you get used to it though.
Also, mode does not work with the Kenwood (at least it won't with mine) so I programmed mode as skip back, and next as skip forward. I think I like it better that way anyways. I skip and rewind tracks or stations more than I switch between the radio/cd/dvd.
I'm pretty sure its programed right. It works sometimes but not all the time. And yeah you do have to hold it quite a bit longer. I guess I'll try to re program it.
Well I reprogrammed it and it finally works. There is a delay like you said but its bearable. I can't get the remote to work though. Its got new batteries so I don't now what else it could be. I tried the different settings on the side and still nothing?????
