I might just have to blow the lines out. I have bleed them many times though. My truck did set for 2 years while I was outta state but it sat in Las Vegas where there is next to no humidity. How much brake fluid would an 88 take empty?
my guess would be a stuck caliper or one thats not sliding properly. i know on my 85 the spring for the slide can be installed upside(if you try hard enough) and the caliper wont float like its supposed to. This causes only one to grab. If the pins arent lubed correctly or the piston is frozen(just a little gunk in the brake line can do this) you will get pull. Just because components are new or replaced donesnt mean they are not the cause. Ive had "new" components leak before.
This is actually my second new pair of calipers. It is not that one is not grabbing, then it would be a serious pull and the other would most likely lock up on dry ground. The craziest part is, everyonce in a while it will throw you off and the other side will pull.
I had one caliper that would not float and i could slam on it hard on wet ground and it would still slightly pull to one side. one pad on the caliper that will no float still grabs so there is still braking.
Pull could also be caused by worn steering components as well. if you have any slop in in your ball joints or any of the steering links it could pull under braking. If you can lift the front off the ground and move your tires around to make sure there is no play in your toe in and camber. Also if you have a worn axle pivot bushing or worn radius arm bushings it could give bad alighnment under braking.
Well I got brand spanking new axle pivot bushings and I just replaced my radius arm bushings on Monday. I have no play in my tire either way, and after I did my axle pivot bushing I had it aligned. So it could be a floater(ha) or something in the line.
i have seen(personally) axle pivot bushing work loose. If there is any strain in your front end it will pop them out under suspension load. I installed a set to spec on my blue truck and kept having a problem with them working loose. Not saying thats it but just saying i wouldnt discount something just because its new is all. Problems like this can be very frustrating to track down.
