I have a 1993 F150 and the rear brakes gradually lock up. A few weeks ago the ABS and the Brake light starting coming on after about 30 miuntes of driving around. The truck brakes still worked fine to stop and were not locking up. In the past few days when driving, the ABS and Brake lights come on and the brake pedal gets "pumped" up and will not release to the point where both back brakes lock up at the same time. I have replaced the master cylinder. This has not solved the problem. When the brakes lock up, I can relieve the pressure buildup by unhooking the brake line where it goes into the rear hub and can drive for another 30 minutes or so before it starts building pressure up again.
I have researched the forum and have found 3 main solutions to try: 1) Replace the rubber hose from the hard brake lines to the t on the axel; 2) replace the proportioning valve; and 3) replace the ABS modulator.
Has anyone had the same problem with their truck and if so how did you correct the problem?
