'02 Dashlights

'02 Dashlights
So I just brought home my new 02 Ranger this afternoon. Tonight being the first time Iv driven it in the dark I noticed a couple of the dash lights behind the gauges not working. I was just wondering someone might beable to give me an idea about what all I would need to do to get to those lights. Thanks.

I recommed getting ahaynes manual. You basically have to remove some screws and panel so you can either reach behind the dash or you need to remove the instrument cluster. If they will fit, I recommend replacing the bulbs with LEDs. Lower power consumption and longer life. I sure don't want to replace dash lights more often than I have to. Replace them all, since they are all probably near the end of their useful lives.

My 03 did the same thing I think they bought a bunch of crummy China made bulbs. You have to pull the cluster to change them and you have to take the radio out and the panel below the steering colume to get the bezel off so you can get to the four screws that hold the instrument cluster in, then the bulbs are in a twist in socket. Never thought about the LEDs that would be the way to go itf not price prohibitive.
