One of the guys I work with has a SuperCrew that I plugged in and got these two codes.
#7 missfire
left bank lean
It seams to miss when you accelerate. I have had my diesel for 4 years, and don't remember if the Triton engines are numbered
1 - 2
3 - 4
5 - 6
7 - 8
or
1 - 5
2 - 5
3 - 7
4 - 8
I'm guessing it is a bad plug. He has 86,000 miles on it.
Sounds like a bad coil, you can swap two of them and see if the code follows the coil to another cylinder. It probably wouldn't hurt to go ahead and put plugs in it.
I recently had code say number 7 was mis-firing, mechanic changed plugs, after heating up, code still said number 7 mis-fire, according to him now head gasket is leaking causing number 7 to mis-fire. He wants 900 to replace gasket.
