Aftermarket GPR

Hey everyone, I was looking to replace my GPR and I was trying to avoid paying 85 bucks for the thing, has anyone tried the aftermarket ones on ebay? If so are they as good or should I get OEM?

Thanks for your help!

Make sure your truck is not a Nevada or California emision equipped unit. I have an early 99 F250 SD and it is a California emission unit bought in Nevada. Guzzle's upgrade did not work for me. I bought the relay and it would not install with the glow plug shunt monitor installed on the GPR.

What? I installed one on my Early 99 CA truck. Are you talking about that thin sheet metal jumper thing?

Yes, that is a shunt for the glow plug monitor system used on the California emission trucks. I had an SES light with a P1395 code, Bank 1 glow plug monitor fault. I decided to installed the larger GPR recommended by Guzzle's write-up and replace all glow plugs. I purchased this larger GPR from Eouser and it would not allow the mounting of the shunt strap. I went ahead and replaced the glow plugs and the code cleared. I then returned the GPR to Mouser. Problem gone.

By the way Fat Diesel...what parts did you use for your CCV mod? How's it working?

Last winter, I decided to try at the International place, and they charged me about 30 bucks for an intl. GPR. Not quite up to the standards of the Stancor, but readily available....

I used a piece of 4" exhaust for the intake tube and ran the hose up and over the engine and down the frame rail to the exhaust. It works perfectly in my climate.

Some GPR Trouble...

Hey everyone,

I just put a stancor gpr in my 2000 f250 after testing the terminal opposite the ground and i didnt have any power when i turned on the key. The two small wires are getting power and the battery is pumping 12 volts into the opposite side. I replaced it with the new stancor and I am having the same problem...Any ideas?

Your truck wasn't all warmed up was it? I don't think it'll kick on if the motor is hot.
