I have a 2007 F-350 and I noticed the fender badge on the passenger side is peeling (second time now, first time I noticed before I took delivery). I thought I read somewhere on here that those are covered under the warranty, but I wanted to make sure before they try and stick me with a bill. Is there anyway to keep them from peeling, some sealer or something I can put on them? Thanks guys!
Yes they should be covered under warrenty. You keep them from peeling by not hitting them directly with the pressure washer. Sending your truck through the automatic car wash will peel the badges to. Nothing but a good hand wash for my truck b/c i dont want the badges to peel.

I'm not sure what caused the first one to peel as the truck wasn't even mine yet. My truck has never seen a pressure washer, or an automatic car wash for that matter. It was just a normal hand wash last week, and I didn't even "scrub" the badges. So, it wasn't a "pressure washer" or an "automatic car wash" that did it.
Painting chrome is never a good idea. (You'd think Ford would have figured this out since they have this problem on all badges on their '05 and up trucks).
All three are peeling on my '05 Super Duty - I'm going to take the advice of others on this forum and just use some acetone and "carefuly" remove the remaining black paint. Nothing wrong with all chrome badges and they are then maintenance free. The black insert looks nice, but if it won't stay on, what good is it.

Thats what I was thinking too, how it would be hard to get paint to stick on a smooth chrome badge, but what do I know. I bet it would be better if they would use some sort of sealer. I thought about acetoning them, but I like the contrast of the lettering in the chrome. I don't think it would look good on my truck to just have a big silver block on my fender. Some trucks it does though.
I had mine replaced. When I did they told me that the supplier had a defective paint that was causing the flaking.
I have one of the 2 that was replaced starting to flake again. I may just go the all chrome route. If there wasn't alignment holes I would just remove them completely.
I had mine replaced under warranty. I was told the same thing about bad supplier paint. 3 years later they still haven't replaced the paint yet? It only happened to one of mine. I would think they have occasional issues with the process more so than the paint
The passenger side one is the only one I have had problems with. Both the drivers side and tailgate have been just fine. I am thinking about going with custom badges from billet badges, anybody have any experience with them?
I had similar peeling on my truck, however, it was the body side moldings and the actual black paint on the badging that says "F-250 Super Duty". All was covered under warranty. It has happen to me 3x for the badging. The body side moding in the passenger side is peeling off again. Looks to me Ford needs to redesign a few things...overall a great truck

Actually, it's happened before 2005... My 2001's emblems peeled pretty quick. But only on one side - the side that had to be repaired when they scratched it BRAND-NEW at the dealer.
I wonder... Maybe someone used a polish with silicone in it?
