converted from auto tranny to stick, and am now ready for back up lights. can i just tie into one on the driver side hot lead, through tranny switch? and the reverse switch, is it a constant hot? everything else pluged in, as the brakelights etc were already working. im planning on running a hot lead key on, through the tranny switch to the hot lead on a backup light, as they seem to be wired together from the factory. anyone have this problem? and would it work?
If you are asking how to hook up your reverse lamps, install the back up lamp switch on the manual transmission, then connect the switch to the factory harness (2 pole). The harness will be there on an automatic or standard vehicle.
If you are asking how to hook up additional lamps outside of the rear tail lamps, put a relay on the driver's fender, grab the reverse wire (bk/pink ?) AFTER the connector at the firewall and run that as the switch to the relay.

well got them wired up for the stock lights, found 2 different switches on the tranny so i used the easiest one to get to. next project is a set of lawn tractor lights, so i can actually see behind me
You might want to double check that, I would have to check on my own vehicle to verify, but, I think one is for the computer to know when the vehicle is in OD and the other for the back up lamps.
well i went out and bought a switch ahead of time, and found out the one i thought was the switch was for the 4x4 indicater light, and the oher switch comes off of the top of the tranny. the one i used was on the side, and dang it looks like the one i just bought, so i used it. weish i saw it earlier, talk about being in a nice location, if it was a snake, wouldve bit me. sure wouldve saved some time and frustration also
