Hi! i have a '96 explorer (eb) not a big thing, but when i adjust the lombar support, it is ok for about 3-4 min, then deflates. is there an easy fix for this,or do i have to remove seat to repair?
It could be that the switch is a little gummed up or one of the air hoses is cracked and is letting air bleed off slowly. You don't have to remove the seat, just the plastic guard the switch is mounted in. Once the guard is off, you can inspect the hoses for cracks or remove the switch and check/repair it. The switch is a little hard to get apart as it has about 4 plastic lock tabs on it but can be done with a couple small screw drivers. Just be careful you don't break any of the plastic by prying to hard.
My 97 had same problem. There are a couple plastic pieces in the switch that actuate the air valve. The air release one on mine was sticking a little causing air to bleed off slowly. A good cleaning solved the problem.
Hi!! Thank you for your reply....i will try that...like i said, not a big thing, just a naggie detail, but i really enjoy my explorer...had it for only a month now...last vehicle was a f150 full size pickup...wow..big difference in comfort....again-thank you
