It's been a while since I was last on this website. It's been a difficult time during the last 4 + months.
I'm hoping I can get back online and begin developing some skills in using the computer. I forgot most of what I learned including finding my way around this website. I hope I'm posting this in the right forum.
Welcome back. Your in the right place if your f-250 is the heavy duty one. There is also a 87'-96 fourm and a fourm to go with your engine further down the main fourm page.

yamaguy,
My truck is a 1997 heavy duty F250 so I'm glad I at least made it to the right forum.
njf207,
I really appreciate your offer of help. I've found everyone very helpful during the short time I've been visiting this website. I hope I can share some of the experiences I've had with my truck in the past.
I've been away dealing with the loss of a second daughter on April 4/07. It's been a rough road to travel.
Thanks for your help and support yamaguy, njf207 and others.
Jack
Jack now for some more upbeat talk. Are you having any issues with your truck right now that you need help with.
Hi njf207,
I started replacing the right front ball joint on my 1997 Heavy Duty F250 and ran into a big problem. I cannot get the spindle off. I've removed the bolts holding the spindle and removed the snap ring, washers, etc on the end of axle. I've tried penetration oil, hitting the spindle with a mallet from side to side and up and down, wedges, a slide hammer, heat, and even built a puller that should do the job. The spindle will not budge!
I've ran into similar problems with my other 4X4s but not as difficult as this. My next approach is to break the ball joints loose and hope they will drop down far enough I can get to them with the cutting torch. If I can get the entire steering knuckle off I can then use a press to remove the spindle. I hope it works because I'm running out of ideas.
Any thoughts you or anyone else may have to share will be much appreciated.
