Truck dies
I have a 2000 F-150 4.6 Liter engine. The other day I drove to a restraurant and when I came out the truck would not start. Motor would not turn over - nothing. All power was available so battery was not the issue. I called my son to come pick me up and while waiting I tried to start it again and it cranked right up. Drove truck home and started and cranked it numerous times in driveway. Had to take truck to funeral and drove to funeral. After funeral tried to start again and nothing. Would not crank - same as before. Tried for about 15 minutes without success. Went home, came back a few hours later and it cranked right up. Called mechanic who came and looked at it and said it was most likely a bad starter. However my daughter's Plymouth Sundance did same thing and it was a sensor. Was hoping there was some way to check for sure before I start replacing expensive parts. Mechanic suggested next time I have a problem have someone tap on starter while other person tries to start the motor. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I might add I'm not getting a "check engine" lite.

You could remove the starter and have it tested at the local parts store, but first check all your cables are good and tight and free of possible damage/corrosion.
My brother's old camaro used to do the same thing it was a bad ignition module?
