Having a hard time finding a PSD
Hi all, I'm having a hard time finding a F-250 of my liking. I looking for a 2002-2003 7.3 litre PSD. Reason for a 2002-03 is because it's suppose to have the Dana 60. I'm also really picky on the color (black or charcoal with gray leather interior). Milage really doesn't matter as much, long as it is under 120k.
I've been using autotrader and ebay, but haven't found anything i like.
I have got kinda leary looking at this forum, because it seems like there has been a lot of people (everyday) with problems with their PSD.
Help me out guys.

Well, I think one of the major functions of a forum such as this is for people to ask for help with problems. Thus, it may seem like a lot of people have problems with their PSDs but not many people come on here to just post "My truck is running fine today." I've been very happy with my truck so far and it has only had minor problems.

Be patient... and then be ready to pounce when it shows up. Texas is a great place to find a vehicle.
As for the reliability issue, there is another thread recently started about "How great the trucks are running and performing in the long haul". Here's the link, just to balance out your perspective. What FordTruckNoob says is right.... and a lot of the "problems" you see being discussed are typically associated with effort to "mod" our lovely beasts to get more power/performance out of them.

Dont be LEARY of a 2000-2003 or 99 as for that goes, I have had my truck almost 8 yrs, This is the part most people find hard to beleive, I havent even had a blown fuse, no problems, never, NOTHING! I would buy another 7.3 in a heart BEAT. If you want issues, buy an early 6.0, the 7.3's are one of the most sought after trucks on the market today!

Trucks west of New Mexico tend to run 5k higher then back east. Continue searching and research the d-60 thing too. You will be estatic with your ride once you find it. If the d-60 is other years youll want 01-03 for better computer upgrades internally.

kennedyford, i'm pretty sure the 2002's and up had the dana 60. Is there a sure way to identify what axel it has?
