need power mods for V-10
well, my 2002 ford f-250 built tough edition, extended cab short box V-10, automatic, 3.73 gears, doesnt quite give me as much low end as i want. changes ive made are a k&n replacement filter, a straight pipe where the muffler used to be. my buddy had a 2000 reg. cab long box V-10 auto 3.73 f-350 with 33" X 12.50" BFG mud terrains and off the line he could just punch it down and smoke the rears for about 20 feet or more, with only dual exhaust for mods. i cant even spin my stock tires like that unless its wet/sandy.
can anyone provide me with some information for some power mods that are cheap and highly effective??? my plans are to get a chip but what kind? or a power programmer, and headers. no nitrous or superchargers. what do you all think?
You'll find that as the motor lossens up a bit, you'll get a bit more power, and better gas mileage. Buy the Diablo chip. It was definately a big improvement, also the is a modification to the air filter cannister that you can do, that also makes a slight improvement.
Like I said before ...Check out the other Post, and good luck!
who makes the diablo chip, how much should it cost, how effective is it, and where can i buy it?
i was reading on this board about a kenne bell chip, with the on/off settings, towing and "go like a lunatic" settings. is the diablo made by Kenne bell?
im new to this forum, im a former dodge owner. as bad as it sounds the dodge was almost respectable, 2000 ram 4x4 ext cab 318 5 speed manual 4.10 gears 3" lift, 35" BFG's, headers, chip, dual exhaust, but basically put i couldnt tow anything with it, and it was a half ton. i get ALOT more compliments and looks with this ford.
