chips vs programer

I have a 2001 f250 7.3 with a ts performance chip. My question is is the ts performance chip the way to go or is it time for an upgrade?

It is a good chip. I had one. I now have something that stomps that one. Which HP settings did you get? The standard 6 pos chip? That is what I had. Worked well, not too thrilled about the tranny shifting and I have gobs more power now.

Thing I like about my DP Tuner chip is that I can switch on the fly. Programmers have to be loaded in and out. However, that being said, programmers can also be used as a code scanner. Since I have a scanner, I didn't need another.

Sounds like he must not have a TW chip. I heard there is no way to tell other than his will be better than the rest. I talked to the factory guy and he seemed a little offended when I asked if you could tell

I have the 6 pos chip-- I do like the change on the fly but I am also not to happy wht the shifting. When I put it on max hp the trans seems like it is going crazy instead of shifting. You mention you have on better what is it?

It's in my signature, it is a DP Tuner tune. I too was not convinced with all the DP hype and got a TS on a good deal. Well, it was great over stock. This is like I got another chip over stock. So basically I wasted money because I failed to listen to advice given me here. And the tranny shifts much better too.

I got the TS with my truck, and it was okay. The tran shifting was a bit crazy, but managable. I had the edge installed after my trans builder advised me to get my chip reburned, since the trans shifting wasnt doing good for the trans. Now I got a DP tuner chip, and it shifted perfect, and the power is incredable. I really didnt waste any money since the first chip was free, but I was loosing out on good power.

I'd get a DP Tuner program and go with it. Also get a BTS VB and that will complete the picture.

Look, if you are skeptical, talk to Jody. He can send you a PCM that is programmed with his tune. If you like it, keep it. If not, return it. No questions asked. If you like the way it runs, return it and get his F5 chip with all the programs you want. Makes it a real cheap test, I think. I went that route and before long, well, I have the F5

Whoops. Sorry. DP-Tuner is the name of the company. Jody Tipton owns it and his wife, Diane, who is very knowledgable is the co-owner. IIRC, there is one more person but I have never talked to him.

Nobody seems to know. Only things I know that DP stands for is Diesel Purge (some snake oil that cleans injectors and what not, cures common cold, etc, etc) and in the **** world Double Penetration.
