Drive Train Noise

99 EX. 100,000 MI/ I CAN HEAR A CLICKING NOISE AS I START OFF TO ABOUT 30 MPH THEN IT IS'T AS NOTICEABLE, AT 70MPH I GET A HUM COMING FROM UNDER THE TRUCK. I HOPE IT'S U JOINTS. ANY IDEAS?

Get it checked out. A lot of shops will put it on a body lift and check the joints for play. They will run the driveshaft to speed and watch for vibration and movement. Its about the only way your going to know what the story is.

I would imagine it is just driveshaft u-joints, but I agree that taking it to a shop with a lift is a good idea. That will make it 10 times easier to check.

It was the U joints on the rear driveshaft, I did them at work in about a hour, one bearing dry and rusted. cost $41 [ dealer $60 parts / over $200 labour]
