Nice stories from this past weekend! I was just getting back from a long business trip in San Diego.

I'll probably come to Mountainview on the 22nd. Might see if the little lady is interested in attending as well.

The GF and I are a go for the 22nd! I'll bring some snacks & refreshments. I'm a big fan of summer sausage & cheese sandwiches. Or crackers. Just as healthy as hot dogs, and there's no cooking required!

Steve, man, I think you're worse than Steve-O from Jackass. Everytime you get something good, nobody ever gets to see it 'cause you've pulled the motor out of it. Bolt that 250 back together, sell the STX and put some money into your mud truck! Do you want people to laugh at you forever every time you get your STX stuck in the wet grass? :-)

The 250 is making it. I've lucked out in that I'm able to use the Lincoln block and heads from the old truck that have already been prepped and checked. I'm talking with MadDog Racing about a rebuild kit and hopefully it will be in next week sometime. I just need the machine shop to final fit the pistons and press the rods on, and cam bearings. Hope it doesn't take too long I DO want to sell the STX. . .and I want to "mothball" the 78 at least until next summer. Yall didn't hear this from me, especially on a truck site but I'm tired of working on the danged thing

You took on a big project with a frame-up resto.

That first drive down the road makes it all worth it. Remember you said the same thing when you sold your 87 and bought your STyX? Don't do it, man...you'll regret dumping all the nice iron you've got. I mean, you could buy yourself a real nice Neon with the cash you'll have, but you'll replace all those parts on your garage shelf with your ***** in a jar.

Probably a good idea to mothball the 78, get your 250 working good (nice clean truck to start with!) and then go after the 78 later.

Hot dang! that you're bringing the 250!

Ha! "Big project" is an understatement

Wasn't originally meant to be a Full Blown resto. . .and I still don't want it to be. . .once I finish the front sub-frame and new u-bolts the cab is getting some "kUztom3" cab mounts made out of small angle, a quick bit of sealant and some paint and going back on the frame (sheet metal work is for the birds). Throwing the bed back on as is, might even drop the nasty F250 block in there just so it's out of the way. Quickly reassemble the front end and toss some tarps and a car cover over it and literally fill it with moth *****

Not so much its an ongoing project, I'd just really like the room back to work on more important projects. Like the furniture I've been promising to refinish. . .gotta have a whole garage for that And my lil' bass boat I'm trying to put together, umong other things. . .just getting stretched to thin. . .Taking a break will do me good.

One interesting idea, and one that at least sounds good when trying to reduce toy numbers. . .sell the STX, and part out the 78. . .and use the dana 60 front, some drive train, winch/bumper, axles, drive shafts, springs, heavy duty parts, etc to use on the 87. Some lift and larger tires for playing. Wouldn't be the big race truck I want, but it would all be back down to just a "weekend tinker toy". . .and a sick Daily Driver

To much to think about right now, talk to yah lata!

Your mildly-beefed 87 idea is the best one yet, I think. Good thing we'll get to see it end of this month!

Getting stretched too thin...... I know the feeling!!!!

It would be ashame to sell the 78 project. If you have the space to store it, I'd do that until you get time. Just don't keep pushing it off until it's way back on the list!! I have been wanting to build a purpose built truck for a while now, and my buddy, Nick, and I have decided to pool resources to build a truck for both of us. It should be a nasty one too when it's all said and done, but you gonna have to wait until next year to see it.....

Anyways, we are glad that you guys are going to try to make it up to support us! It's always maked me run harder knowing that I have people in the stands cheering me on!!

The red truck? Maybe only if you drive down here Still waiting on the rebuild kit stuff. . .I did get 2 exhaust ports ported though

I really don't want to sell the 78. . .I really. . .REALLY don't! Probably wont either though, so no worries I do wanna make it to these races, hopefully I don't shoot myself in the other foot when the time comes! Or just plain forget
