Hey everybody. Long time member but this is my first time posting. I recently acquired a 77 f-150 short bed with a 390 FE. The previous owner bought the truck to put the engine in a mustang. He told me it was a 351M, and couldn't get it to fit in his mustang. Well after some research I found out it was a 390.
So now I have a truck with the engine in the bed and I'm not sure about the wiring and vaccum hoses when i put the engine back in. Also I am missing most of the hardware i.e. bolts, nuts and washers. Is there anywhere I could get a parts list so I can find bolts for the accessories and such.
Mil1ion makes a good suggestion. When I do swaps I REALLY like to have both the donor and recipient vehicles in walking distance for all those little pieces.
It sounds as if there is an FE engine in the bed that doesn't go with the truck. The FE engine was not an offering in 77.
Actually The engine was in the truck and running when my buddy pulled it out. So its all there, I just don't know where all the fasteners went. Also It does have a brand new C6 with 0 miles for it as well.
And as to why I've never posted. I've just always found what I need by searching....
Sorry about that. I should have been more specific.
I mean fasteners like the bolts for the engine mounts, water pump, alt, headers, starter...thats all i can think of for now.
I don't know much about the engine. What I do know is its a 390 with a holly 4bbl, headers, accel supercoil. As far as cam and other engine internals I have no idea.
Most of the nuts and bolts are standard sizes that can be found at any hardware store. Or else you might have to go junkyard hunting for any oddball items.
I guess I was just curious if any one knew how i could find out those bolt sizes without trying lots of different ones. Like if there was a parts list for the complete engine that was published or something. thanks for your help guys
