The question about how much is a good one. Can anybody help with that as far as how much per gallon of fuel. I just bought some Power Service, but not sure if I'm overdoing it. Guess the first time is okay to use a double dose.

I called Powerservice about 2 years ago and they stated that what they reccomend on the bottle is good and double-dosing is fine for greater benefits... but more than double-dosing costs the user more in money than the additional benefits provided.
I double dose (every tank) and have done so for 100,000 miles.
Overkill... maybe... but with 103,000 problem-free miles on the ODO.... I will continue to do so since I plan on driving my truck for 300,000+ or more miles.
Cetane is kind of the opposite of Octane. Octane is the measure of the resistance to autoignition, Cetane tells how easy it is to autoignite. The higher the cetane rating in a diesel fuel, the easier it is on your engine.
As far as how much to add, any is better than none. More than a double dose is overkill and doesn't really help you any. I usually just dump about half a small bottle of Powerservice in at each fill up and call it good. I don't worry about taking specific measurements.
As far as Power Service DIESEL KLEEN, Should I use the stuff in the white bottle or the silver bottle on a regular basis?
And what is cetane (Is it simular to octane) Do I want a cetane boost, because some of the additives say you can raise your boost by "X" amount.
The difference between the white and silver is the white has an antigelling agent for cold weather. Cetane levels will not hurt your engine. Granted filling your tank with it might. There is a direct relationship between a diesel fuel's cetane number and its ignition point. Delayed ignition is a primary cause of increased emissions and inferior engine performance. The lower the cetane number, the longer the ignition delay. Fuels with high cetane numbers burn more quickly and more completely, resulting in smoother running engines with less power lag, lower emissions and easier engine starting. I buy the 16oz bottle and use the whole thing. I alternate it ever other tank fill. It says it will decrease fuel consumption by 8%. I honestly might get 1/2 to 1 mpg better. There will be a little sweet smell to your exhaust. Walmarts around me only have the 32oz and larger bottles so I hit the auto stores. Its about 5.99 a bottle. I havent done the math but I figure it does an engine good.

What are you alternating... which bottle you use (white or grey), or using at all in every other fill-up?
I would use in every tank for the lubrication properties.

You can use either the white or grey bottle year round. The white bottle has anti-gel (good for Wisconsin winters) and the grey does not. I think the grey also boosts the cetane numbers a couple digits more and may have a stronger injector cleaning package.
I have used the white bottle year round at each fill up (standard dose) for the past 85,000 miles and it runs great.
i just picked some stuff up today, i can't remember what it is called right now but it says 1 oz. will treat 70 liters of fuel, so i have to use about 1.5 oz of it per fillup
