[updated:LAST EDITED ON 26-Jul-02 AT 02:09 PM (EST)]I went through a car wash in my 2002 F150 Supercrew and one of the Triton V8 decals came off. I plan to replace it, but I am unsure how to remove the glue. I read that a hair dryer will heat it up and then it is easy to remove. Someone even suggested paint thinner. Any suggestions?
You might want to try a product (I think you can buy it in hardware stores and places like wallmart) I'm not sure if this is the name for sure "Goo-gone". It's orangey in color and gets rid of adhesive, gum, etc without leaving any marks and is not very expensive.
goof off works great for that application. you may find it with paint strippers because it is designed to be get LATEX, not other types, paint where it has spilled on a floor or something like that. i would check it somewhere inconspicuous first just in case it messes with the paint, but that worked on my 85 Ford to remove a bumperstick off of my tailgate.
