anyone running HIDs?

Just wondering if anyone was running HID's in their trucks, and if so, is there anywhere that sells clear headlights so the beam isn't destroyed by the factory fluted lenses? i have a link to a group buy on the Hyundai forum i am on and am able to get a great price, just looking for some input from others to see if it would be worth the 160 or so for the kit...i put HID projectors in my sol and love it, and would love to improve on the horrible late 80's headlights that have plagued many of the ford's i've owned...

and you might want to keep OEM headlights.. there realy bright even eith the OE headlamps, and tecnicly speaking, its the ony way there legal.

Did you put them in your truck? if so did you get the Bi-xenon bulbs or the xenon low, halogen high? Im thinking of getting bi-xenon

well, i actually don't have the truck yet, im just lookin to alleviate the poor 80's faded and crapped lenses, but i was going to do xenon low and 110W driving lights for assistance as highs.

You can clean the faded lens with tooth paste. Tooth past is a mild abrasive and will polish the lens back out, removing the oxidation.

Flitz ball? that should work, they advertise that in there comercials... try and google them. but i think the stock lens if clear wont really disturb the beam...

I replaced the ones on my old 87 with some factory looking ones that were made of glass. They were made overseas somewhere, although they had a DOT stamp on them. They worked great with factory bulbs as well as the more expensive ones.
I still have the same brand on my 96 Chevy. They are great. I cannot remember the brand name, but I think I got them from www.mrtaillight.com
Hope this helps.

ok here ya go, my driveway light was on so they look a little white. I can tell ya its a world of difference with HID's and i still have the stock housings with the fluttled lens. Considering your truck is black and temp would be great, i suggest 6500k-10000k they all look awesome! My lights iluminate EVERYTHING around me, licence plates glow, street signs glow, damm ill have to get some pics of what it looks like in front of me

just so you have an idea of how bright they are, i completely light up the over head signs on the highway from 300ft or more back, its quite amazing, feels like the light dies when it rains but still works quite well
