Hey guys today i was running my daily errands, when i park for like 15 minutes and i stay idled with my AC at full blast because it was about 98 outside. Im pulling back in reverse and all of a sudden i notice that my water temps are OFF the roof!!!! the water line was on and the needle wanted to surpass hot. By then i should have turned my truck off but i was 4 blocks away from home, so i turn off the AC and after about 6 minutes the temps go back to normal. I tested it by turning on the ac again and stepping on it all the way to 3k for about 3-6 secs and it was overheating quick as hell, so i step it down to be able to get home and i turn off the AC, which at that point brings the truck back to norm. I just checked it now about 6 hours later I turned the engine on but didnt move it and my amps gauge was at about 15 which my dad says is abnormal but im not sure, and my water temp was rising but it was below the mid point when idling. My dad keeps blaming my remote start alarm because the battery is super hotm but its been about 3 months since the truck has had it on, but who knows.I would really appreciate this alot guys. As for maintenence its all done to the book i just did the 90k mile maintnence at 85000. I used to do the oil and filters, etc myself but I just wanted them to do the 90k so they can check the pc and everything was fine. I took it the other day as well but all they did was replace the parking brake's pads. So if u guys can please help me out because my dad is afraid the truck is going to blow a piston.
Truck:
1998 Lincoln Navigator, 4x4, 5.4L V8, 86000 Miles, All Fluids Toped off and checked the oil status all good. I Toped off the anti freeze fluid because it was a bit low.

Clifford Matrix 70.5X
Excuse the sloppyness in my post im just really worried.

Yup, 15 would be high, but the only way to verify that is to make sure you have an "Amp" meter. Chances are it is a "Volt" meter and is measuring the rate of charge for your battery. The only way to verify what it is charging at is to use a volt meter across the battery terminals while the truck is running and measure the actual voltage that the battery is seeing. Most vehicles it is normal to see 14.3 ish for a charge voltage; although I have seen some controled by the computer and limit that to 13.x ish. Either way, if you have a "volt" guage and you see "15", but your volt meter across the batter says different, then it would be just the way your meter on the dash is. I would take a guess and say that "15" on your meter is normal, and your batter will see something else.
As for over heating, it sounds like a sticky or stuck thermostat; especially if you have the correct level of coolant, and you have no leaks. There could be other problems, but the most common would be this.
