A "wrenchhead" friend & I installed the Borla SS headers on Saturday. I did the K&N air filter with hole in the grille and completely exposed filter last month and now the headers. You can feel the increase in power. Kept stock cat and muffler to keep sound levels reasonable.
Install was straight forward, since Borla didn't include any instructions. It is a good thing my friend has done header installs many times and had all the tools we needed. Still took us about 4 hours. Will re tighten all bolts and try to add locking devices after I get back from RMNP.
Will do a mileage and relative performance check this weekend by pulling my 28 foot 5ver to Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) from Colorado Springs.
Completed 1300 miles over Labor Day to Lander & Dubois WY, averaged 8.9 MPG pulling the 5ver. I am hoping the headers will up the MPG especially if I slow down below 75 mph and going over the pass at Elk Mountain (9000 ft?) will be quicker and faster.
Welcome to FTE and the V10 Header club! I've had my Borla headers for quite some time now and still love them. You should plan on in the futre adding a cat-back. The Borla's are quiet.
