Help

Ok I drive a diesel 6.9 but thats not my issue....I have a friend that has a 96 bronco and at speeds of 50-55 mph it starts hopping and jumping and the wheels lock up....I posted in the bronco forum but no one seems to reply on that stupid forum and i knew someone would here. I had a 89 f250 do the same thing a while back so im sure its common on all fords. It is lifted 6 inches and so was the 89 any help would greatly be appreciated

Umm you might want to get underneath the truck and take a look around, sounds like something is wrong...Seriously though, is it the front wheels that are "hopping and jumping" around or the rear wheels? If it is the front you are getting death wobble and your steering parts are getting worn out (tie rods, track bar bushings).

Well, a while back someone told me my ball joint was popping what ever the hell that has to do with it. The tire rods weren't loose or anything when I looked last night. The tires are bald as S*** in the front, and the allignment is all screwed.

Oh yeah, it's the front wheels. The front driver side is the one that locked up and it pulled right like a ****. Before or after 55mph its perfectly fine.

Worn ball joints let the caster, camber and toe in all change as the tires roll over changes in the pavement slope.

For some reason 50 to 60 MPH seems to be where everything gets the worst with steering problems.

Does sound like a death wobble to me, I have seen it bad enough to jerk the steering wheel out of my hands even with power steering.

A trip to the front end shop for an alignment may save your life.
