how do i post an avatar please

i finally figured how to start my gallery,but could sombody please explane how to get an avatar.this computer doesn't do that drag and drop eather.i have java1.6.1 but it doesn,t drag and drop.please help i'm really computer illiterate.thanks

welcome to the club. the only success i've had here is with text. i see some guys here with hundreds, some with thousands of posts under their belts. i wonder how long it took them with the pic thing?

In the Control Panel, choose "Edit Avatar" under Options and Settings.

thanks but i can't find the control pannel.i think i'm just going to skip the gallaries,it keeps comming up with errors,and is a pain to do pictures.thanks for the replys guys

86Bigred ....... the control panel is right at the top of the page, but is labled "user cp" from there choose edit avatar. i know Sport45 already told you that but the user cp thing could be missed. then click on browse, establish (damm, i can't type tonight) a path to the folder/file on your computer where the pic is that you want to use and then click that button at the bottom (can't remember what it says) just use your common sense, and it will upload your pic. i tryed to but said my pic was to large. guess i better get a smaller cam, ha ha . hope this helps. wish i could figure out to upload pics to a gallery.

86Bigred ..... sorry i missread your post. i thought you said you were computer literate, i must be reading illiterate tonight. anyway heres more detail. find the user cp at the top of the page, click on it and it will take you to a page where it acually says control panel. from there you can select edit avatar. it will take you to another page and there you have to select use custom avatar. after clicking on that button you will be allowed to click on browse. after you click on browse a window will appear. it will be the choose file window. this window shows what on your computer. now you can establish a path. i don't know where you have stored pics on your computer, but where ever they are, you select that area to the left. it will open that area of your computer and you will see find your folder/files. if your pics are still on your photo card insert it into your reader and select my computer then double click whatever reader has your card (should say toshiba or whatever the card is). find your image and double click it and the file name should appear in the box next to the browse window you clicked earlier. if you can get that image/ file name to appear in that box then your all set. just click save changes and your pic should upload to be your avatar. you know i don't understand that word avatar.
