I have a '06 F150 SCREW with the power rear window. All was quiet until the vehicle clocked approximately 20k miles. Now, when closed, it seems to squeak constantly. The squeaking ceases as soon as the window is cracked open. Anybody else have a similar problem, and is there a known cure (besides riding with the window open all of the time ) ?
Try putting dry graphite on the run channels that the glass slides in and also where the glass meets the divider between the stationary glass and the movable glass. Most likely the movable glass is rubbing on the rubber that is between the two glass panels and when you open the slider it isn't rubbing anymore.
Mine did the same thing. I took it back to the dealer and they put on a what they called an anti squeak piece. I have not looked at it but I think it was a piece of rubber. The part was installed under warranty and it has taken care of the squeak.
I had the same issue and I've had the dealer look at it twice now. There is a TSB out there for the issue, so as long as its under warranty its covered. Unfortunately I don't feel that the Ford fix has done much to help but its better than it was. Take it to the dealer with a copy of the TSB (search the TSB list on this site for power rear window) and they'll fix it free of charge.
mine would be very slow and sometimes not even close, then ud have to try to push the button and push the window at the same time (in a crew cab) or have someone help
Had TSB 062306 B 955 performed today with my 21k mile service visit. Seems to have worked. We'll see whether it was a permanent fix or not. (fingers crossed).
