I recently had my speedometer recalibrated to accomodate bigger tires. I went from 255/70/17 to 285/70/17. Does anybody know where exactly the info for the recalibration is stored? The only reason why I ask is because I am thinking of changing my cluster with a Roush Performance Cluster that I have had sitting in my closet. Will changing the cluster make me lose the recalibration? Or would disconnecting the battery or a dead battery make me lose that info? I just dont want to have to pay the stealership again for the same job. What do you all think?
I got if off ebay a few years back. I bought it from Dale Jarret Ford's ebay store. I'm not even supposed to have this thing because ROUSH doesn't sell it to the public unless you have a Roush vehicle. Roush is pretty tight with thier stuff. I bought it for a bit over $300. It looks pretty cool. It its one of those EL glow gauges. I believe it's made by SIMCO. I might be willing to part with it if I cannot configure it the way I want it to my vehicle. Any info on the speedometer question?
Sorry man, I'm still in learning mode. I just got my F-150 less than a month ago. I've been trying to soak up as much info as possible, which is why i've been asking so many questions.
IF, i were to take a guess though, I would think....new trucks are all fly by wire, meaning the speedo, is just a visual representation of what the computer is thinking. If the computer was reconfigured properly, a battery dissconnect should NOT unprogram what they have done to it to fix the speedo the first time. Again, just an educated guess though.....
