V10 owners?

How many miles to the tank are you typically seeing, in town and highway?

I usually fill-up every 400 miles for my in town driving ... about once a month. I haven't been on a trip with this '05, but my '01 would easily go 550 between fill-ups on a cross country trip I took to Vegas. It would have gone to over 600 miles on a tank, but not knowing where the next gas station might be (out in the great wide open southwest), I filled up before the needle got too low.

I typically fill up at about 360-400 miles. Almost always get right about 10mpg mostly around town driving. 2000, V10, 4WD.

Fill up? I can't afford that... kidding!

I usually get between 12.5 and 13.4 - on the lowerside lately with 100+ temps and running the AC more. I usually refill the tank when I get just below 1/4, so usully I'm over 400 miles. There are time where it's a bit lower, just depends on the mood of my rightfoot.

i also get about 400 mi. before i get to 1/4 tank then fill up. recently went from NY to SC and back and averaged about 14.5, currently at about 12.3 around town which is odd because before our trip i was getting just over 10. while on the trip i was going well over 500 mi. before filling up and still would have around 1/4 tank

I fill up at about 450 miles and usually have 5 to 6 gallons left in the tank.

No. My records (hand calculated because the overhead readout is consistently off by 4-tenths) indicate I'm averaging 11.3MPG in town since I bought the '05 V10.

I get roughly 12mpg around town and 15-16 on highway trips with only family and no towing. I have to baby it, keeping it only around 2000 rpm, 70 mph to do so. Mine is a 2000 LTD., 2WD.

1) You don't pull on super man's cape
2) You don't pee into the wind
3) You don't tell your wife she has a BFA

AND

4) You don't discuss fuel mileage of a near 8000# 10 cylindered pulling monster and expect it to be a good thing!

I get 8-10 pulling or not. My "commute" is a 4 mile local road each way...so I figure a gallon a day. I've tugged my 9000# 34' (ball to bumper) TT 4000 miles this year and am "averaging" 8.1MPGs and that includes some LONG 6-7% Appalachian mountain grades. All my MPGs are HAND calculated.

hand calculated and pulling through the kettle marine area i average 7.8 mpg with a 7000 lbs TT. when i went to nothern wi on the flat with air con on 6.9 mpg. the speed is usally at 64mph this is where i get the best milage. V10 2wd 3.73 k&n filter it has better tourque but hurts the milage yes you can feel the difference clombing hills. Michilens pump to 78lbs. it is stiff ride but no sway and total wheel control with the weight dist bars on. best highway milage hand calculate is around 15 mph my house to the nearest cabelas about 200 mile trip. local drive back and forth to work in the winter is around 12mpg unless snow is on the ground It is a riot to watch peoples reaction when a 8000 Excursion is performing doughnuts wee

X Hemi guy I have calculated my miles by hand too and not depended on the lie-o-meter. I really think it all depends on driving style and terrain. I have a 3.73 gear. I do consider my mileage a good thing considering it is an 8000 lb block cutting through the wind.... Really, are we doing much worse than a full size truck by any manafacturer equipped to tow like our Ex? No better than a H2 from what I here but people always want to come after the Ex. It gets to me how people with full size trucks will ask "How can you afford to drive that thing?" They are doing no better on mileage, hauling fewer people and never haul anything in the truck bed because they don't want to scratch it.

7190 LBS up to 7668 LBS based on how outfitted according to specs I have seen. Add a family of four and you are pushing close to 8,000 LBS.

These are the specs from 2003. You are pushing near 4 tons when you include family or any gear.
