83 charging system issues?
I got a 1983 f150 4x4 300 i6 4 speed charging system isnt working for ****, new alternator, voltage regulator, battery,all hooked up properly but still not working suggestions? i have heard block grounds if so how many is thier suppose to be? and where?

Grounds...the main one would be by following the negative battery cable down by the starter. Others would be engine to body, under the hood.
What voltage you get across the battery poles with everything off...around 12?
Now with it idling....close to 14?

do you have an alternator light in your dash.if it is burned out your charging system will not work.had this problem once,replaced the whole charging system to find out it was a lousy .25$ peanut bulb

i would check all ground wires if you are having a problem with over charging. i know when i dropped my 400 in a 86 f250 i didnt have the engine grounded to the fram or the fram grounded to the bat and this caused me to keep over charging the bat and messing up elc parts. completely grounded the system and everything worked good
