anyone know a really good place to take my 5.9 360 engine? i know of this one place my friend took his jeep engine. looked horrable and came back looking brand new! but it cost him $1000 for a v6...
Any decent automotive machine shop should be able to handle rebuilding a ford 360. Check your yellow pages for some local machine shops, and ask around to see who others have used in the area.
any places near or around garden grove, ca 92841
i have a place in mind but i would have to ship it to them.... i have no idea how i would ship my engine
Shipping would involve crating and delivery to a freight terminal or access to a forklift to lift it to a delivery truck. Try uship.com for freight bids. I've used them in the past and had good service.
i need headers or exhaust manafolds for my 73 f250. it might be a camper special im about 80% sure its a reg. f250... i have pictures of the engine in my gallery. they dont have what im looking for at summit or jcwhittney... but if i somehow missed it can you please show me? thanks
It all depends on what you want to spend, and how much you can do yourself. For the least money... If you can pull it yourself, you could go to checker or autozone, and get a remane engine. If you can assemble an engine, track down a machine shop that will take care of your heads, and bore the cylinders, size the rods etc. Get a basic rebuild kit from summit or survival. Anything above and beyond is an upgrade and will cost more. Another option is to check craigslist, 352's 360's, 390's, 410's and 428's will bolt in easily, but do your research and visit the FE forum. I frequently see rebuilt FE's for super cheap, but be aware, there is some risk in buying used engines. Although.. $1000 for a rebuilt engine installed is a pretty stellar deal.
Reproduction manifolds with the lifetime warranty are merely cheap cruddy manifolds with a crummy warranty. They run about $120 a pair shipped. I bought a set for a 351w, one cracked in a year. Now its craked all the way thru in 3 places, gravity is holding it together. They claim the factory flaws have been addressed... ya right.
