It will have the base tuning, but will relearn driving habits and such after driving it a bit.
Actually about an hour will usually do.

sorry to jack the thread..but question

my friend works at a ford dealer...and they just got a 01 F150 in...and it came with a Hypertech Programmer...and he said i could come in and he would let me use it if i want...but if they sell the truck it goes with the truck.

so i was just wondering if i go in and get the performance tune set..and re adjust my speedo(for my tires) and other stuff...will it stay in there if i take the battery cable off when i install my stereo next week?...or will the speedo calibration and such stay there and just the performance part get wiped...or none at all get wiped?

The programmer is married to the vehicle. You will not be able to install the HyperTech program in your truck until the program is removed from the dealers truck, returning it to the stock factory settings stored in the HyperTech programmer.

To actually answer your question, the program remains in memory if the battery is disconnected. Good luck!
