Donor truck

I have a 66 f100 2wd. I am buying a 76 ford f150 for the disk brakes and the power steering for $250. My question is will the f150 work or do i need to find a f100?

It will work, the F100 turned into the F150, but I don't remember what year.

The F150 was introduced in 1975. The F100's continued in production till the end of the 1983 model year.

FWIW- if you are replacing the stearing column the bracket under the dash that holds the brake and clutch pedals is a direct bolt in . it's helpful as you will loose the brake switch that is on the original master cylidar. the wire will then be routed back into the dash and to the switch on the 76 bracket. my opinion is that the electronic swithes work better than the origial pressure switches. you will also need to build two spacers about 3/8 of an inch long to span the gap where the stearing column touches the dash. you'll notice that right away when you put the 76 column in. Also if the donor is in working condition , test all the wires coming out of the 76 column and mark what they do. will save you some time trying to figure out what wire goes where when connecting to your 66. I'd take all the drivetrain components; you never know what you'll need down the line!
