Hessitation problem on acceleration
I just thought i'd post this incase anyone else was having this problem. The truck was hesitating and bogging when i would punch the pedal, and sometimes it would die. I figured it was the accelorater pump circuit, so after doing some reading about how the circuit works i pulled my carb and opened up the accelerator pump diaphram. I have a 4180 holley carb, and istead of an umbrella shaped check valve in the accelorator pump i have a ball check valve......well the metal strip that holds the ball in place had blown off and the ball was just rolling around loose in the pump. i since have replaced the primary float bowl and the truck is now running good, i can now put the pedal to the floor with no problem.

I've got the same issues when I "punch" the pedal. I've been living with it for a year now, and I've learned to just "roll on" the power. Works pretty good, but some day I'll open that carb up and take a look.
