Just stopped by dealer last night to check on my truck for the stalling isssue with the a/c on. After a week in there they are telling me the alternator is spiking and causing this. So does anyone know if they are blowing smoke. Should be done today since they say they had to order one..
I guess it is within the realm of possibility. Alternators have been known to throw out voltage spikes every now and then and/or have the voltage regulator go bad and let the voltage creep all over the place. Plus with all the computer control and fly by wire gizmos the truck may certainly feel the effects of voltage that is out of tolerance.
If you know of a certain chain of events that always cause the problem, you could disconnect the alternator and just run on the battery for a few minutes to see if the problem persists.
Found out today that they replaced the alternator but it wasn't the problem. Now they say it's the pcm. Just had it replaced one year ago this month. So aparrently it's only good for a year.. lol..

Well good luck with your case. From your original post, I was hoping that the shotgun "replace this part, replace that part until something works" was being done under warranty. If you are having to pay for it, I'd say definitely time to search for a more competent shop. Again, good luck with everything.
