low range on 94 ranger

ive tried it both in park and in neutral and it wont engage ive tried it at low speed. still nothing. but thank u for ur reply , i guess im gonna have to start with the switch itself and work my way down. hi speed works just fine itll engage "on the fly'. so must be something small .

A comon problem is the electric shift motor on the t-case. 4 low is the least used so it can stiffen up where the shift motor can have trouble engaging it. I run my truck in both ranges at least once a month, even if it's just to the barn and back.
