Stock EGT's
I do not have any chip yet, I'm working for that and am getting close as I come up with the funds. I installed guages this summer and will probably do a 4" exahust next. I notice when I tow my EGT's climb up to 1200 pretty quick. My probe is pre-turbo. Normally I back out of the pedal and just climb the hills slower but when everyone is passing me it gets a little frustrating. Its a stock set up, I didn't think the computer would let me get the EGT's to an unsafe level. Should I be worrying about what my guage is showing or am i worrying too much.

1200 is generally not considered unsafe. Over 1200 for extended times is where the problems come in. 1300+ for long is going to cause problems. Towing up a hill with any kind of weigh at all, 1200* with stock setup is about right. Opening your exhaust will lower it some, chipping it will raise it back up. Keep in mind that sometimes slowing up and lowering your rpms will raise you EGT's. Keep your rpms up by using a lower gear and see if that helps.
