coolant LEAK

I have a 97 4.6 f-150. and recently iI changed my plugs and now my truck is leaking coolant. When I turn on the AC it blows white smoke into my cab smells like coolant. It also leaks but cant find where its coming from (some where back by the fire wall). Could I have hit or pulled a hose back by cylinder four when changing the plugs. Any suggestions would help.

The #4 spark plug is right under the heater core connections with the heater hoses. I would guess that you bumped the heater core tubes enough to cause a leak. It may be a simple fix of tightening or replacing the heater hose clamp. If that doesn't help, then the heater core may need to be replaced. See this for instructions.

Good luck!

Sounds like a heater core if there is a cloud coming out if the vents. Maybe you hit one of the heater core lines hard enough to cause a leak and rupture it in the cab.

bad haeter core

My truck was leaking bad from a trip I was on I took it in and the shop said it was a bad heater core. They fixed it for 585.00 dollars. I wounder if it was something I did when changing the plugs. I'm kind of upset with my self. I probably could of fixed it if I checked the hoses instead of throwing away that much money.
