Thoughts on dp tuner
I pulled my gooseneck saturday with only about 5000 lbs. on it and im not sure about tuner yet. I used to be able to pull the same load up the hill with my hypermax chip in (100 chip) about 65 mph and 1000 on egts, With dp in in 60 tow i could only go 55 with egts hitting 1200 and letting off the throtle or it would have kept climbing. I am getting ready to leave for michigan friday with my 5th wheel camper that weighs aprox. 12000 lbs. Plan on pulling in 60tow but not sure if the egts are going to let me. I used to put my 75 hp chip in from hypermax when i pulled my camper and egt would be about 900 degrees running between 70 and 75 mph. I guess if the egts get to high i'll stop and put my hypermax 75 chip back in. Time will tell. I do think that my 100 chip is equilvent to the 120 tune on the dp going by the smoke,seat of the pants feeling,and the egts on how fast they climb.
