About two months ago i posted a forum about a horrible whistling noise my 06 f150 has. When i drive 70 mph or faster i have a whistling noise coming from the windshield /dash board area. I recieved a lot of replys last time and i tried everything people recommended and nothing worked. The Ford dealership cant figure it out either. If anyone has any ideas about this Please Help! Thank you.
I have the same noise at 70mph or higher, also when I accelerate I hear a grinding/noticble noise coming from the transmission area. Any one have any Ideas?
I posted information on this before, but I had the same issue when driving speed over 45 mph. My issue was the alternator. This was almost 1 year ago and I haven't had the problem since.

My dads 06's altenator does the same thing, but it would only do it when cold so summer is good for him to drive, just sucks in the winter
did you try the seam between the grill and the hood? put some painters masking tape there and see if it gies away, if it ioes you can remove the grill and install double sided tape on there to take up any gaps that will cause a whistle or just install a bug shield while you have the grill out, that is what I did and the whistle went away.
I'll tell you how to get rid of the noise. It's coming from the roof ditch molding around the top of the windshield. There is a very big gap where the top of the windshield meets the roof. Take painters blue masking tape, and tape across the top edge, and you have to tape up the sides also, otherwise if you just run it along the top, the wind will catch the tape and get up underneath it. Try this out and let us know. There have been quite a few of us in here that have had this problem. I put a bead of black silicone in there. I know I know, not something you want to do to a 40k truck , but the dealer was of no help.
