I turned in my 03' 250 6.0 that has 105k to the Ford service center down here in FL for the AC blowing warm air at idle. When I get up to 40 plus mph it starts to blow cooler air. Well I picked up the truck from Ford Friday it was a little better but still presenting the same symptoms. Below is a list of the items preformed.
106052 FAN CLUTCH ACCUM. HIGH SIDE (LIQUID LINE) LEAK TESTED FAN CLUTCH INOP AND HIGH SIDE LINE LEAKING LOW REF. EVAC REPLACED HIGH SIDE LINE ACCUM ORFICE TUBE AND FAN CLUTCH NO FURTHER ISSUES.
PREFORMED MULTI - POINT INSPECTION.
If the list of things preformed above didn't correct the problem what do you guys think it might be?
I'm a little concerned because it was quite a bill. Will I be charged for labor if it's the compressor and or condensor?
before you take it back, go get a thermometer so you can see what it is cooling to, and show the service manager. 45 to 50 is what you want going down the road, depending on the ambient temp is what will be acceptable at idle. do you have a aftermarket grille?
No, I don't have an after market grill. Everything is stock. Driving down the road at higher speeds I'm pretty sure the temp will check out. I will take a reading and show it to the service manager through.
I had the a/c clutch assembly bolt backout and after a while ( a few weeks) the front clutch plate just fell off. I had the same a/c performace as you are describing. Cold as it should be at speed, but warm at idle. Maybe unrelated, just another possibility. Mike
Turned it back in this morning to the dealer and the service manager wasn't happy the problem didn't get fixed. He was really cool about it and assured me it would be taken care of right away. About an hour later he found me in the lobby and said that the orfice tube was put in backwards.
I was turning blue on the ride home, but later on during the day it happened again, just not near as bad. Temps down here in FL are around 95, I'm wondering if that has something to do with it?
