i've been throwing around ideas for an engine upgrade
on my 76 f-100, when i saw a blip in a magazine about
a supercharger for the 5.4l. what's the earliest vehichle
i could find this in, would it bolt in, and how much susp.
work would i have to do? i've never tackled a job such as
this, but i've got a couple seasoned mechanics on my side.
all input greatly appreciated.
The earliest truck you find this in is the 1997 model f-150.
It was available in the '98 Expedition. I think it was in the econoline a few years before that, '95,'96.
Other than that I don't know any other models that have it other than '99 and later Super-Duties.
The 5.4L isnt just in the heavier line of trucks they came in the 1/2 tons stock...... but of course you did hafta pay the extra $900 for it..... but the 5.4L is a good engine no probs on mine and its got 18000 klm on it... oil sending unit went only major prob. I only wish i had the $$$ for the supercharger.....id fry all 4 tires off !!! haha
