I sold my 2005 F150Screw 5.4L FX4 to my dad and bought a 2005 Excursion Limited 6.0L PSD. What a difference pulling my 7000# TT in the Colorado Rockies. No...I cannot run at 65mph over Vail Pass (12000ft above sea level) but the extra towing capacity makes me feel far more secure in towing in any terrain. I love this thing when towing...when not towing, I have a bit of a different attitude towards it...but I am converted. Never again will I be without a F250 frame and PSD!!
We have a 2002 Limited 4x4 with the V10. Wish it had the PSD. My wife, all 102 lbs of her, loves the ride and view. Can't get her our of it so I had to go buy a 2003 F350 CC Dually with the 6.0L PSD. Love both. With Ford still made the Ex.

I have a dog that weighs more than her
I noticed you mentioned you loved both trucks but not a word about the wife
If i were you i would get a hypertech tune because they are the only ones on the market that are tow safe. alot of the tunes will give you a ton of HP an torque but you have to switch back to the stock tune in order to tow or risk breaking something.
