First let me say that my truck (07 SD, 6.0, SC SB with stock 18 inch tires) seems to be running great. Good power and at just over 10,000 miles I'm starting to see a small increase in gas mileage. I do kind of baby the truck, but today I was on the way home from work and wanted to see how much boost it was putting out. Started at about 30, put the pedal to the floor and held it there until it got to around 75. I never saw the boost get over about 26 psi. Granted, this is with the stock gauge and I'm not sure how accurate it is, but it still seems a bit low. Especially when the red line on it looks to be about 35.
I don't really see it as a problem, I guess I'm just **** about things.
That sounds about right for a stock 6.0. 28 is about the max you should see,and you may only see that pulling a load. Mine only hits about 26 aswell, when im playing a bit. But loaded pulling my camper and boat, ive hit 28 Up the big long 6-7% grades.
anyways, Glad you like the truck, wouldnt trade mine for anything.
I never really looked until I rad this thread but earlier today I tested it out. looks like my truck gets 25 psi or so as I have a stock gauge. My truck is 100% stock until Monday.
i have a 03 that will hit about 25 on a hard pull and slowly drop back to about 23 lbs
but pulling my 5th wheel trailer i see 30 on a reg baseis and have seen 35 lbs , but for some reason only with the cruise control on, and i tap the brakes to make it drop off. i did how ever blow the O-Ring on my intercooler tank and took it to the dealer and they replaced it and the turbo. saying the turbo was sticking but it still will do it now with the new turbo if i let it.
26, 28 psi is about right, been hearing on FTE ,,over 30 psi is not good , for head gasket, intercooler tubes, etc,,my 06' F-350, 6.0 is just under 30 by the stock gauge,,would have to say 28 or so,,almost 24 k on her,,Great truck !
