transfer case not staying in 2H
my 88 f-150 sometimes pops out of 2H. As long as I keep pressure on the tranny and no coasting it is fine, but once I start coasting it pops out and stops between 2h and 4h. Almost like a neutral but it make as aweful racket when it does. and sometimes it is tough to get it back in as it sits and grinds gears. but in time it goes back in. it is like a syncrol or something is messed up and it doesn't stay in 2h. bent fork? goin into 4H or 4L is fine, feels solid. but 2H doesn't feel solid.
Any ideas?
