Need help W/ C6
I have a ranger with a 302 ho full roller mated to a c6 out of an 85 bronco FS. My problem is the tranny seems to be sucking all the horsepower out of the engine. When I take off from a start you would think that I only had an I-4 under the hood. I also doesn't shift properly (up or down). I have installed a new factory spec rebuilt torque converter and a new shift modulator. Also, the trans is to my knowledge never been rebuilt, but I did change the oil/filter. The other thing is the tranny sat in my buddies garage for about 2 years with fluid in it.
I have a lot of time and $$$$$$ into this swap and am getting really frustrated because I cannot play with it like it is.

That was also my thought. But also is your converter set up for small block applications. I've see problems similar with GMs putting Turbo 400 behind 350s If your stall speed is too high a small block many times won't perform correct out of the hole.

Yes, it is starting in first, it even does the same thing if i have it dropped down into 1st manually. Also the stall on the converter is about 1200-1300 rpm calculated by way of brake stand test.
