last nite i accelerated fast but not WOT and then i hear a loud clunk and loss of power quickly. this morning going to work boost gauge not working not hearing turbo spool up and my egts in about 5 minutes was getttin past 1000* so i turned around and took it into the shop now im just curious on what you guys are thinking my problem is
Of course we do. Did you check all of your intake boots? Up pipes for leaks? What have you checked? So far we have a clunk, low/no boost and high egts. I suppose it is still not making any boost and is pretty powerless?
checked everything boots nothing came off no power AT ALL no boost egts sky rocket very quickly im assuming thats cuz the turbo isnt pushing cool air thru so thats my story
Did you pull of the intake and inspect the impellar, and shaft? If that appears to be OK visually, could your map line have come off or developed a leak? This would cause the puter to not add fuel though I am not sure about those EGTs.
I guess you could disconnect all of that ITP and Boost Gauge plumbing and go direct to the MAP to see if power returns and try to isolate a a map signal leak if all of the other CAC plumping is secure.
I assume there is no SES light? Where do you live? Maybe you are close to someone with an AE.
well its at the shop now i gotta get it taken care of quick i need it for work but im definite something isnt right here becuase there was a huge clunk sound
yea i was just checking to see what you guys thought might be the problem but i think that if it is the turbo then ill just get a rebuilt one and attempt to put it in myself taking it step by step and do it right... this all had to happen now bcuz last nite i was looking at gettin an ATS housing o well thanks for the help
Well, been in the shop all day eh? I guess they "got right on it". Gotta love the shop. I suppose we will be awaiting that diagnosis.
To be fair, most shops are not just waiting around for us to show up. On the other hand, most folks here try to fix their rigs themselves. Then there's the folks who have to work and don't have time. I hope it works out for you, but at any rate you have no truck right now. Good luck.
