I have a 2006 6 disc/MP3 capable Ford radio. I have the new 2007 dash center tray with the MP3 jack integrated into it. Is there a way to wire it into the 2006 radio? Maybe a factory harness? Thanks.

hessdk, can you post a picture or link me to a picture of the "dash center tray" that you have? I've ordered an AUX box for my MP3 player. I've been trying to figure out where I'm going to locate the mini jack. I might want to buy 1 of these.
littlewillie, I do not have a picture, but look on top center of a 2007 dash and you will see it integrated into the tray. The tray is about 6" x 8" and is where you would put items like sunglasses etc.
hessdk & STXDriver, Thanks guys. I didn't understand where the "center dash tray" was located. Pictures tell it all. I was thinking the jack was located on the bezel around the radio & heat / air controls.
I've had the 2005 F150 S/C for 2 months & we are pleased with it. Gave up a 91 Chevy C1500 for this one. A lot of difference between the two.
I'm new to this forum, but have been around NICO & Automotive Forums for several years.

the factory radio before 07 does have aux input capability, but only WITH an aftermarket aux interface like PIE or Brandmotion ( these simulate the factory dvd communication to enable the aux input) . Brandmotion has one specifically for th eIPod. has control of the ipod and song display through your radio buttons.
PIE has a generic Aux box for headphone jack output or other mp3 players.
they are about $80 for the PIE generic aux jack and $140 for the brand motion IPod interface.
I would use the 07 tray, and solder the appropriate wires to the pie interface harness. or if you have an IPod, use the brand motion box as its harness connects to true line level output of the IPod via the bottom connector and also charges it.
The Brand Motion Ipod interface rocks. You have full control of the Ipod function from your Ford audio system. I have both the PIE and the Brandmotion Ipod interface. Don't get a PIE if you have an Ipod, its basically just a generic audio input (I use it for aux/sat input) -- for an Ipod you definitely want to use the Brandmotion product.

What is involved with installing the brandmotion ipod overhead docking station? I have a 04 FX4 with the audiophile system. The system has the aux button, but no aux input jack. I looked for installation instructions on the brandmotion site, but I didn't find them.

you have one issue (like me) withour 04 radios
ford made a change in 05 which had a softare change
Brandmotions product unfortunately does not work with our 04 radios
I have been using an 05 6 disk radio from my work ( auto supplier) with my brand motion IPOd interface, but recently reinstalled my 04 audiophile because i missed the sound quality of my audiophile so much.
PIE may work for 04 , I am not sure, but is just aux line level input
and also peripheral has an ipod interface out now, again not sure about the 04 radio
the other option is to sell your 04 radio and buy an 05 audiophile radio from ebay.
I have not found a good enough deal yet to pull that trigger.
if you have the right radio, calling brandmotion is very helpful. they can give you instuction on installation.
